Veronica (Ronnie) A. Malambri Obituary

Veronica (Ronnie) A. Malambri, 81, of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on September 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County.

Veronica was born on January 3, 1943, in Saranac Lake, NY, daughter of Ellsworth and Doris (Begor) Stickney. She graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1961 before attending Auburn Community College and Jefferson Community College. She went on to pursue a career in business management, working as the manager for Flickinger’s Cash and Carry in Watertown for 15 years. Later, she transitioned into convenience store management, serving as auditor for Valentine Convenience Stores until her retirement in 2015.  

Veronica married Lewis Johnstone in November, 1962. Together they had five children. The marriage ended in divorce.  In November 1983, she married Andrew Malambri, who passed away in 2013. 

She was a member of the Watertown Elk Lodge 496.  Ronnie loved arts and crafts.  She enjoyed and taught ceramics and cake decorating.  She was an avid card maker and enjoyed oil painting.  She and Andy were dedicated bowlers, participating in a local couples league and she the local women’s league.

Veronica is survived by her four children: Michele (Ralph) Frost of Dexter, NY; Kevin Johnstone (Karen Mahoney) of Centennial, CO; Kelly (Dan) Lockwood of Watertown, NY; and Lisa Johnstone of Auburn, NY. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Matthew Frost, Sarah (Devon) Ellingsworth, Jazmyn Frost, Jessica Johnstone (Hayden Hares), Taylor Barrett, and Madison Lockwood; three great-grandsons, James, Wyatt and Clayton; her brother, Robert L. Stickney of Reno, NV; an aunt, Cynthia Oliver, of Saranac Lake, NY; as well as many cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband, Andrew and a son, Dale Johnstone who passed away in 2019.  

Arrangements are with Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.  Burial will take place in North Watertown Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Samaritan Medical Center Intensive and Palliative Care Units for their care and compassion during her stay there.  Their care and professionalism were greatly appreciated.
