Tracy L. Schneider

Tracey L. Schneider, 46, of Carthage, NY, passed away at her home on February 23, 2025, following a brief battle with cancer.

Born on July 1, 1978, in Carthage, she was the daughter of Clara Hosmer. Tracey was a graduate of Carthage Central High School. She dedicated 18 years of her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Carthage Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center before furthering her education. She attended Jefferson Community College and later earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree from Lewis County BOCES. As an LPN, she worked in home healthcare, providing compassionate care to those in need throughout the local community.

On October 10, 2003, she married Douglas E. Schneider in Watertown, NY, and the couple made their home in Carthage.

Tracey had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed the changing seasons, whether it was making floral arrangements, apple picking in the fall, decorating, or cooking according to the time of year. Most of all, she found joy in helping others.

She is survived by her loving husband, Douglas E. Schneider of Carthage, NY; her son, Graham Schneider, and his fiancée, Kaya Dair, of Carthage, NY; her cherished grandson, Trace Schneider; her mother, Clara Hosmer of Utica, NY; her sister, Willow Stenoski of Utica, NY; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In accordance with her wishes, Tracey generously donated herself to the Anatomical Gift Program at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
