Terry A. Rivers

Terry A. Rivers, 62, of Adams Center, NY, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025 at Hospice of Jefferson County Residence at the Ellis Farm.

He was born on October 13, 1961, in Watertown, NY, the son of Arthur J. and Nina E. (Wiley) Rivers. Terry was a 1979 graduate of Carthage Central High School. After graduation, he worked in construction for various companies in the local area from 1979 until 1999. He then joined Fort Drum Public Works as a maintenance mechanic, where he worked for over 20 years. 

On June 16, 2001, Terry married April Roshia at Tug Hill. They shared many wonderful years together until her passing on March 3, 2019. 

Terry enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. He cherished spending time at camp on Tug Hill and with his faithful dog, Jet. 

Terry is survived by his daughter, Heidi Crook, and her husband, Gene, of Fowler, NY; two stepchildren, Joshua P. Youngs and his wife, Telena, and Jacob R. Youngs of Watertown, NY. He is also survived by four brothers: David A. Rivers and his wife, Marlene, of Peterborough, Ontario; Floyd J. Rivers and his wife, Kathleen, of Glenfield, NY; Ricky R. Rivers and his wife, Lynn, of Lacona, NY; and Robert J. Rivers of DePauville, NY; and two sisters: Marietta R. Kitto and her husband, Kevin, of Lowville, NY; and Rebecca M. Lambert and her husband, Joseph, of Mooresville, NC. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Terry was predeceased by his half-sister, Beverly Perrigo and his nephew Kevin “Rusty” Kitto, Jr.

A graveside service will be held at Black River Cemetery on a date to be determined by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Bruce Funeral Home.
