Steven J. Carlo

Steven J. Carlo, 70, of Watertown, NY, passed away September 30th, 2024 at University Hospital in Syracuse, NY.

Steve was born on March 23, 1954 in Watertown, NY, son of Philip and Carmella (Messina) Carlo. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1972. Following school, he was an auto body and paint technician for 16 years in the Watertown area; later becoming a self-employed contractor.  He retired after 15 years of employment for the Watertown Housing Authority.

Steve was a gifted artisan, passing along his knowledge to those who were lucky enough to learn from him. He enjoyed sharing his many skills with friends and family. From painting vehicles to building infant cradles, he was always generous with his craftsmanship and offers to help.

He married Joan Grappotte of Watertown on August 3, 2007 and the marriage later ended in divorce. They remained close friends until his passing.

Among his survivors are three sisters and two brother-in-laws; Carmine (William) Toomey of Sevierville, TN; Paula Rogers of Black River, NY; Toni (Michael Delaney) of Mills River, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. It is his wish to be cremated and burial will be held at Glenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
