Sharon M. Richardson

Sharon M. Richardson, 81,of Concord, NC and formerly of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family. 

Sharon was born on August 13, 1943, in Watertown, New York, the daughter of Carmen and Marvel (Barcomb) Catania. 

She graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy in 1961 and married Joseph A. Richardson on June 22, 1963, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. For several years, Sharon was a devoted homemaker before working for the Watertown City School District as a cafeteria worker. Sharon and her husband, Joseph, moved to North Carolina in 1996, where they enjoyed their later years together. Mr. Richardson worked as a truck driver for most of his career in the local area. 

Among her survivors are her beloved husband, Joseph A. Richardson; her daughter, Kimberly Jo Richardson of North Carolina; her sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and James Foreman of Roaring Gap, North Carolina; two brothers, Richard Johnston and his wife, Karen, of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Thomas Kealy of Newport News, Virginia; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, her son, Joseph C. Richardson, on September 9, 1990, and her sister, Tammy Hunt. 

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 19th, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. The  funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. 

Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery.
