Watertown, NY – Sharon A. Seavolt, 82, of Watertown, NY passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025 at her home where she was surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 18, 1943, in Watertown, NY, she was the daughter of Stephen and Esther (Hamel) Egged. Sharon graduated from Watertown High School in 1960 and continued her education at Guild School of X-Ray Technology in Saranac Lake, where she earned her degree as an X-ray technician. She dedicated her career to the medical field, starting at The Hamilton Avenue Hospital near Monticello NY, before moving back to Watertown to work at Samaritan Medical Center. She was a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the New York State Society of Radiologic Technologists. Sharon worked the majority of her career at Northern Radiology retiring in 2009. Even after retirement, she remained committed to her work, continuing to assist at Northern Radiology as needed.
Sharon was an active member of Epsilon Delta, Beta Sigma Phi sorority from 1961 to 1985 as both an officer and president. Earning the honor of “Girl of the Year” in 1970.
In 1970 she was awarded the honor of being a member of the Outstanding Women of America which recognized young women who gave their time and efforts to the betterment of community, country, and profession
On April 30, 1966, Sharon married Jerri Seavolt, and together they had two children before their marriage ended in divorce. The two remained close friends throughout the years.
Sharon found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved reading, watching her daily soap operas, and attending Broadway shows with her daughter. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and her beloved dog Ryder.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeri L. Fedora of Oswego, NY; her son, Stephen Seavolt and his longtime companion Theresa Bender of Watertown, NY; her former husband and his wife, Jerri and Susan Seavolt of Brownville, NY; her niece, Sharon (Michael) Reed of New Hampshire; and her nephew, Brian Calahan of Maine, furbaby Ryder and grandogs, Lilly and Finnegan, and her longtime companion Daniel Beatty of Lacona.
She was predeceased by her parents, Stephen and Esther, her sister, Patricia Egged, and her Mother and Father In Law Lois & Floyd Seavolt who she remained close with.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 26th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home 117 N. Massey St., Watertown. A funeral service will immediately follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
A private burial will take at the convenience of the family in North Watertown Cemetery.
