Shannon "Bud" Jackson

Shannon “Bud” Jackson, of Felts Mills, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2024 in Watertown.   

He was born in Utica on August 10, 1947 to Gene and Maree Bonner Jackson.   Shannon grew up in Marcy, NY graduating from Whitesboro High School.  He served his country with two terms in Viet Nam as a “River Rat.”  Shannon’s love was cars, and he helped many throughout the years as a body mechanic.   

He leaves behind his son, Joseph Michael LaGray, Spartanburg, South Carolina, two grandsons Joseph Michael LaGray, Jr., Spartanburg, South Carolina and Zachary James LaGray, Dunbar, West Virginia, a sister, Susie Jackson Zeiter, Reno, Nevada, nephew, C. Forrest Zeiter, Reno, Nevada and special family members Joanne Ambroselli, Clinton, New York, Kim Williams, Utica, New York, and Melissa Alvarado, North Port, Florida along with other family and friends.  

He is predeceased by his son, Michael Joseph LaGray, Utica, NY, his parents, and his sister, Sharon Jackson Plizga.

 A special thank you to Brandi  Snyder and staff at Meme’s Dinner for their support and care for Bud. Bud will be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help others.  He spent hours enjoying the backcountry of upper New York State, and fly fishing.  He was loved dearly and will be missed. His family is comforted knowing he is the presence of the glory of God.

Arrangements are with the Bruce Funeral Home, Black River.  It was his wish to be cremated and there will be no services.
