Rose Marie Wyman, 69, of Calcium, NY, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center.
She was born on August 5, 1955, in Rochester, NY, the daughter of Stanley and Helen (Bixby) Borowski. Rose grew up in Rochester and later moved to Watertown, where she attended Watertown High School.
Rose was first married to Eugene E. Monica Sr., and together they had a son before their marriage ended in divorce. On May 28, 1979, she married Brett C. Wyman in Rochester. The couple made their home in Calcium, NY.
Throughout her life, Rose worked hard and took pride in everything she did. She was a machinist at Bomax for several years and later worked in retail at Walmart and Ames in Watertown. Brett was employed with New York Air for 22 years and later retired from Gamble Distributors in Carthage in 2017.
Rose had many passions in life—she loved crafting, fishing, knitting, caring for her plants (she truly had a green thumb), and watching birds. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren and loved attending their school and sporting events. A longtime member of the Calcium Fire Department, Rose also found community and fellowship at the Calcium Community Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Brett C. Wyman of Calcium; her son Eugene E. Monica Jr. and his companion, Jessica Rusaw of Calcium; two grandsons, Devin and Austin Monica, both of Dexter; her granddaughter, Olivia Monica of Dexter; and her daughter-in-law, Nicole Monica of Dexter. She is also survived by her loving cat, Stanley.
In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her daughter, Christina Marie Wyman, and her sister, Sandra Guyton.
Per her wishes, Rose will be cremated, and burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Sanford Corners Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Jefferson County SPCA. Online condolences may be shared at www.hartandbrucefh.com.
