Robert E. “Bob” and Caroline Partridge

Robert E. “Bob” Partridge, 82, of 24479 Sanford Corners Road, Calcium, passed away peacefully March 22, 2021 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Born on June 16, 1938 in the Town of Philadelphia, son of Lawrence Partridge and Loava Flemming Hill, he attended school in Clayton.  He worked on the family farm in Clayton where he and his brother raised colts, enjoyed riding horses and riding in parades and attending horse shows.  He also worked at Timmerman’s Turkey Farm.

He entered the US Army and served from 1960 to 1962.  He served a year stateside and a year in Germany.  While in the military he attended Army aviation school where he learned to be a helicopter mechanic.  Upon his honorable discharge he returned home and he held various jobs at Frink Snow Plow, Black Clawson, Taylor Concrete, JJ Capone and VS Jerry’s.  He then went to NYS Department of Transportation as a mechanic from 1979 up until he retired in 2003.  He loved Mack Trucks.

He married Caroline Booth on December 29, 1962 in LaFargeville with Rev. Clifford Sullivan officiating, the couple resided in Calcium. Mrs. Partridge passed away April 11, 2014.

Bob was a member of the LaFargeville American Legion where he had been Commander for a total of eight years and held various other offices and volunteered on many committees. He was a member of the Watertown Elks Lodge #496 and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also served in the Emergency Police in Watertown.

Among his survivors are his three children and their spouses, Trudy and Paul Blanchard, Watertown, Tina and Neil Hyneman, Watertown, Douglas and Robin Partridge, Calcium, six grandchildren, Maci (Joshua) King, Megan (Erik) Edmonds, Douglas Partridge Jr. and his fiancé Lyndsie Danks, Rachel (Shaquille) Daley, Joel Blanchard, Emily Blanchard; 2 great grandsons Aven Blanchard and Enzo Daley; a great granddaughter, Wyatt Edmonds and several nieces and nephews.

A grandson, Zachary passed away at the age of 16, a sister Noreen passed at birth, and five brothers, Lawrence, Frederick, Donald, Dalton and Charles all died before him.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.  There will be no calling hours or funeral.

 A graveside service will be held for Bob and his beloved wife Caroline 10 a.m. June 11th at the Sanford Corners Cemetery.  Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Army and Klock-Smith Post 1788 American Legion.

A Celebration of Life will follow the burial on Friday, June 11th beginning at 1p.m. at the Klock-Smith Post 1788 American Legion in LaFargeville.
