Pauline M. O’Dette, 82, of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024 at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a resident.
She was born on May 15, 1942, in Watertown, New York, daughter of Alfred and Pauline O. (Amell) Bodway. She attended IHA. On October 29th, 1960, she married Oliver B. O’Dette Jr., at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. The couple resided in Watertown, where Pauline worked for Sears and Roebuck as a catalog clerk and in the sewing machine department prior to working at Allstate Insurance Company, as a licensed insurance broker until her retirement.
Pauline was an avid reader and enjoyed doing puzzles and playing games.
Among her survivors are her children Lynne (John) Holland, of Florida, John (Susannah) O’Dette, of Iowa, Barbara (Keith) Gross,of Arkansas, Patti (Bernie) Ulmen, of Three Mile Bay, NY, Lori (Troy) Robinson, of Arkansas, and Randi Robinson, of Florida. She is also survived by her brother Edward Bodway, a sister Joan Davidson, thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Oliver B. Odette, Jr., in 2022, three brothers, Albert, James, and Alfred Bodway, a sister, Edna Seymour, and her son-in-law Matthew Robinson.
Arrangements are with the Hart and Bruce Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held in Glenwood Cemetery on Saturday, May 24th at 10 a.m.
