Patricia Ann Conway Obituary

Patricia Ann Conway, 83,  of Calcium, New York, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home, where she had been a resident.

Patricia was born on May 5, 1941, in Ogdensburg, NY, to Frederick Weaver and Thelma I. (Worden) Loveless. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1959 and earned her nursing degree from the St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. Patricia began her career as a registered nurse at the House of the Good Samaritan in 1962, working in the recovery room and later the ambulatory surgical unit until her retirement in 1995.

On May 5, 1962, Patricia married the love of her life, Kenneth E. Conway, at the First Methodist Church in Ogdensburg. The couple moved to Calcium in 1963, where they built a life together. Kenneth worked at Plumpton's Chevrolet for 15 years and Northrup Motors for 18 years. He also worked at Clifton's Garage, Robert's Automotive, Service Plus, and Tom's Service Center as an automotive technician, retiring in 1996.

Patricia was an active member of her community. She was a proud member of the Calcium Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary,  Fire Commissioner for the Calcium Fire District, and a Brownie Leader in the 1970s.  She was a Sunday School leader and superintendent at the Calcium Community Church, where she also sang in the choir and occasionally played the organ. She then became an active member of the Bethany United Methodist Church until it closed, she then became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watertown. 

Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Kenneth E. Conway of Calcium, NY; her son, Jeffrey E. Conway of St. Petersburg, FL; her daughter, Jennifer L. Storey of Daytona Beach, FL; and three cherished granddaughters, Samantha Storey, Taylor Storey, and Elizabeth Conway and nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by her brother, Frederick C. Loveless.

Arrangements are with  the Hart and Bruce Funeral Home. Burial will be held  in Sanford Corners Cemetery on June 6th at 2 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at the First United Methodist Church on Mullin Street in Watertown.
