Nora J. Filippi

Nora J. Filippi, 75, of Watertown, New York, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024, at Rome Memorial Hospital. 

Born on March 29, 1949, in Ellisburg, New York, Nora was the daughter of Gay O. and Dorothy (Presley) Cooley. 

Nora married Thomas Filippi in 1968, their marriage ended in divorce in 1979 and he later passed away in 1998. 

Nora dedicated her life to being a homemaker, finding joy in simple pleasures such as doing puzzles, playing cards, and bingo. She had a deep love for her dog, who was her faithful companion for many years. 

She is survived by her two daughters and a son in law, Tammy and Pete Martin and Connie Sok. Nora also leaves behind two brothers and a sister in law, James and Cecilia Cooley and William Cooley, as well as three sisters, Betty Grandjean, Anna Groff, and Joanne Cooley; and several nieces and nephews. 

Nora was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Michelle Lee Filippi, and several brothers and sisters. 

In accordance with her wishes, Nora will be cremated. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 23rd from 11 a.m. until Noon at Hart and Bruce Funeral Home, 117 North Massey Street, Watertown, followed by a funeral service at Noon. She will be laid to rest in Woodside Cemetery, Belleville, New York.
