Nancy L. Vecchio, 56, of Watertown, New York, passed away on April 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County following her courageous battle with a rare cancer.

She was born on September 14, 1967, in Watertown, NY, the beloved daughter of Bill and Joan (Chiappone) Vecchio. Nancy graduated from Immaculate Heart Central and earned her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Utica College.
She dedicated her career as an occupational therapist, working at Jefferson Rehabilitation Center and BOCES. Her position at BOCES allowed her to work for various schools in Jefferson County, retiring after years of service.
A large part of Nancy’s identity was being a coach. It started with her passion for basketball, where she was a coach in the late 1990s and early 2000s at the Fort Drum Recreation Center.
Nancy then became synonymous with the sport of girls lacrosse in the North Country. She created and became the head girls lacrosse coach at General Brown High School and formed the Different Road Patriots Lacrosse Club which brought all the area schools together to be part of one team. Currently, she was on the coaching staff at South Jefferson High school for the girls lacrosse team. Nancy was extremely proud of the many athletes she coached that went on to receive scholarships and continue to play at the collegiate level.
Outside of sports, Nancy found joy in music. Particularly Alicia Keys and Beyoncé. She had a talent for photography, creating slideshows and meticulously managing the family holiday calendars.
Nancy is survived by her beloved mother, Joan Vecchio, her son Kendall Vecchio, a daughter and her husband, Briauna (Dave) Skrzypiec and their children, Eliana and Julian; two sisters and a brother in law, Ruth Vecchio and Karen (Mark) Emerson, and a brother and sister in law, Jerry (Cindy) Vecchio; as well as a niece, Whitney (John) Bachner; five nephews, Jerry, Nicholas, and Connor Vecchio; Matthew (Andrea) Emerson and Marcus (Jessica) Emerson; six great nieces and nephews, Bailey, Hunter, Johnny, Joey, Neva and Mia.
She is predeceased by her loving father Bill Vecchio.
