Michael D. Northup Obituary

Michael D. Northup, 31, of Calcium, New York, passed away on March 18, 2025, in Watertown, New York. It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Michael—a devoted husband, cherished son, beloved brother, and dear friend.

Michael was born on September 15, 1993, in Palm Beach County, Florida, to Michael M. and Brenda L. (Lee) Northup. He attended high school in Palm Beach County and was an adventurous spirit throughout his life. He was a skilled diver, pilot, photographer, professional jeweler, and craftsman. A true seeker of thrills and a lover of science, Michael was known for his kind soul, unwavering integrity, and deep care for those around him. Whether it was family, friends, or anyone in need, he touched countless lives with his generosity and compassion.

Michael’s talent in jewelry and metalwork, paired with his empathy for others, allowed him to create meaningful keepsakes for people to cherish in remembrance of their loved ones.

He married the love of his life, Zahra S. Owens, and together they made their home in Calcium, New York, while she served in the United States Army. Michael was employed at Kimberly Scott Creations in Watertown, New York, where he applied his artistry and craftsmanship.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Zahra S. Owens, and stepdaughter, Adira Martinez; his loving parents, Michael M. and Brenda L. Northup of Lantana, Florida; his siblings, Amanda (Steve) Thomas of West Palm Beach, Florida, Benjamin Roberts of Cooper City, Florida, Austin Northup of Palm Beach, Florida, and Ryan Q. Northup of Lantana, Florida; his nephew, Colton Thomas; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
