Kimberly S. Northrop

Kimberly S. Northrop, 57, of 1385 Sherman St., Watertown, passed February 1, 2018 at the Samaritan Medical Center following a courageous and lengthy battle with diabetes.

She was born on February 20, 1960 in Watertown, the daughter of John J. and Sally (Johnson) Shaughnessy.  She graduated from IHC in 1978 and went on to attend College at Brockport and SUNY Potsdam.

Following school she married David S. Northrop on June 20, 1981 at Holy Family Church. The couple resided in Watertown. David currently works at Caskinette Ford in Carthage.

She worked at Howland’s Department Store, Claire’s Boutique in the Salmon Run Mall, and owned and operated a day care in her home for many years. 

Kimberly completed her Associate’s Degree at Jefferson Community College and went on to be employed by Jeff-Lewis BOCES.  There she was a court liaison and home school coordinator.  She then worked with BOCES Alternative Center for Educational Services where she continued to be a court liaison and hold various other positions up until she became disabled in July of 2012.

She is survived by her beloved husband, David S. Northrop, her two loving sons, John S. Northrop of Watertown and Jordan D. Northrop of Las Vegas, her grandson, Mason D. Northrop, her mother, Sally J. Shaughnessy, Watertown and her brother and sister in law, Thomas and Nancy Shaughnessy, many nieces and nephews.

At the request of Kimberly and her family there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
