Karen L. Alteri Obituary

Karen L. Alteri, 65, of Philadelphia, New York, passed away peacefully at her home on June 17, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family, following a brief battle with lung cancer.

She was born on April 19, 1960, in Alexandria Bay, New York, the daughter of Robert J. and Lenna M. (Earl) Rosbrook. Karen graduated from Indian River High School in 1978.

She met Stephen L. Alteri in 1998, and the couple were united in marriage on May 22, 2010, in Watertown. They made their home together in Philadelphia, New York.

Karen worked for many years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, dedicating her career to caring for others. She was employed at Samaritan Medical Center and later with Caregivers, a home care service based in Watertown, until her retirement.

Karen loved boating, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. One of her greatest joys in life was raising her grandson, Tyler, from the age of two—a role she cherished deeply.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Stephen L. Alteri of Philadelphia, NY; her three children: Dominic Rima of Watertown, NY, Jessica Rima of Philadelphia, NY, and Leah Alteri and her wife Cassandra of Watertown, NY; two grandchildren, Tyler Colwell of Philadelphia, NY and Giannah Noftsier of Black River, NY; her brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Julie Rosbrook of Watertown, NY; three sisters and their spouses: Trudy and Pat Ryan of Watertown, NY, Kathy and Randy Goodwin of Antwerp, NY, and Christine Rosbrook of Watertown, NY; her sister-in-law, Verna Rosbrook of Arizona; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Grant Rosbrook.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Evans Mills Cemetery.
