Jolene M. Tyre

Jolene Tyre, 42, of Watertown, NY,passed away on January 20, 2024, at home after bravely facing a brief battle with cancer.

Born on August 31, 1981, in Watertown, she was the daughter of John C. and  Joanne (Brow) Tyre. She graduated from Watertown High School.  Jolene worked for a time at the SPCA and for various local restaurants, notably the Savory Cafe, until she became disabled.   Jolene had a passion for drawing, tending to her home, cooking, and she had a deep love for animals. Known for her vibrant personality, she was always willing to lend a helping hand and she loved to get the last word in with family and friends.

Jolene is survived by her  fiancé, Chad Whitford of Watertown; two beloved children, Skyler A. Tyre and his partner Dylan Ubiraco and Harryson C. Tyre, a stepson, Ryen Whitford NC;  her stepfather, Buck R. Petrie as well as her five siblings,  Robert S. Scougal Jr., Casandra Tyre, Rhonda (Paul) Lowe, Ronnie A. Tyre, and Clifford W. Scougal;  numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Jolene’s calling hours are scheduled for Monday, January 29, from 2 to 4 PM at the Hart and Bruce Funeral Home 117 N. Massey St., Watertown. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 29th at 1 p.m. in Brookside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the SPCA of Jefferson County.
