John J. Bertrand Obituary

John J. Bertrand, 64, of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center.

John was born on August 22, 1960, in Watertown, the son of the late Ivan H. and Margaret E. (Kimball) Bertrand. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1980 and began his career at Williams Apparatus in Watertown. He later moved to Florida, where he worked at Jiffy Lube and a local golf course for ten years. In 2010, John returned to Watertown and was employed at Domino’s until becoming disabled in 2017.

John enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was also a dedicated sports fan and a lifelong supporter of the Boston Red Sox.

He is survived by his brothers, Dennis J. Bertrand, Neil I. Bertrand, and Robert K. Bertrand and his wife Kathy, all of Watertown; a niece, Sara Bertrand; two nephews, Robert Bertrand and Christopher Bertrand; one great-niece and two great-nephews; and an aunt, Marie Duval of Warminster, PA. He is also survived by several cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 27, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 28, at 10:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
