Jerry Luffman

 Jerry D. Luffman, 82, of Watertown, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Samaritan Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 27, 1943, in Watertown, Jerry was the son of Francis and Thelma (Robbins) Luffman. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1961 and went on to work at Black Clawson as a heavy equipment operator, where he remained until retiring in 1981 due to an injury.

Jerry married Diana Lane in 1962, and later, in 2004, he married the love of his life, Roberta Searchfield, in Watertown.

Known to many for his warm heart and skilled hands, Jerry was a lifelong member of the Northside Improvement League. He had a true passion for cars—fixing them, painting them, and especially working on racing cars. When he wasn’t in the garage, he could often be found camping at Long Point, enjoying bingo, fishing, and spending time outdoors.

But above all, Jerry loved his family. He cherished every moment with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Grandpa Superman” for his strength, love, and unwavering support. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by the people he loved most, and nothing brought him greater joy than simply being with them.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the fourth-floor staff at Samaritan Medical Center for their exceptional care and to the War Clan MC for their incredible support.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Roberta; his daughters, Mary (Charlie) Duffany, Kim Clukey (Marvin Countryman), Tammy Grube, and Christy (Donald) Robbins, all of Watertown; his son, Jerry D. Luffman Jr. (Laurie Law) of Watertown; step-sons, Jeremiah Johnson (Angel Howard) of Watertown and Frederick Johnson of Wisconsin; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and his sister, Sandra (Thomas) Bruno of Watertown. He was predeceased by his brothers, Norman and Robert Luffman, and his sister, Joni Morris.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11:00 A.M.in Brookside Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00P.M. at Faichney Drive Business Complex, Watertown.
