Heather M. Jones, 38, of Dexter, NY, passed away on her way home from work the night of September 10th, 2025.
Heather was born April 1st, 1987 in Orlando, Florida. She was the beloved daughter born to Nikole Campbell, her “daddy” Raymond Premo, and her “mom” Cheryl Myron. She graduated in 2005 from Lowville Academy spending most of her time swimming laps, later attending Jefferson Community College for nursing.
Heather, married to Jasyn Griffin from 2006-2014, gave life to their son Chayse in 2004. Heather later remarried and gave life to another pair of children; a daughter and son.
There is no one word to describe who Heather was- collectively or during any given period of time. She was a maker, took DIY as a challenge, and couldn’t help but distract herself by trying a new thing or two. Her passions were everything all at once. They functioned as hobbies, businesses, as art forms, as a love language- whether it was baking, decorating, stitching, needle-point, wrenching, cooking, caregiving- she took it as a personal challenge to prove she could do anything all at once.
Heather was unorthodox, but at her core was nothing more than compassionate. This extended to people, her number one goal was to make sure the question “are you having a good time?” was always positively answered. Did you have food? Do you need something to drink? Are you comfortable? Are you warm enough? These were the questions she asked.
She loved to take in animals too- her life surrounded by loving companions like her Chihuahua Chiquita, german shepherd Loki, her siamese cat Freyja, and a whirlwind of various guinea pigs, mice and rats, a merganser (a lovely one), and to the dismay of those around her- an unusual amount of garden snakes for one woman to carry in her car.
Heather is survived by her aforementioned children, 2 sons and 1 daughter, including Chayse F. Griffin of Phoenixville, PA; her adoptive father Raymond Premo of Lowville, NY and mother Nikole Campbell of Watertown, NY; Three brothers: Shane Premo, Raymond Premo, and Jammie Premo of Lowville, NY; her sister, Nichoel Sullivan of South Carolina; a myriad of nieces, nephews, cousins; as well as two uncles and their wives: Lance and Christy Campbell of Orlando, FL, and Ryan and Sandy Campbell of Helen, GA.
Heather was ingenious, creative, passionate, protective, and these are just so few words that can describe who she was. She got the first laugh from you, and always got the last one herself in the end. She leaves behind a massive community of friends and family who will forever miss her spirit, her spunk, her spark.
