Eugene Vincent Obituary

Eugene Vincent, 92, a resident at Henry Keep Apartments in Watertown, passed away peacefully July 12, 2020, at home.

Born on October 24, 1927 in Watertown, NY, son of Eugene and Hazel (Smith) Vincent, he attended North Junior High School.

Following school he worked various jobs.  He worked for Ken Graham Construction for many years and then went to work at Jefferson Community College where he was Senior Building and Maintenance from 1970 until he retired in 1989.

Eugene was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the founder of “Sniff Along Beagles” raising many beagles and training them for hunting.  He also enjoyed gardening.

He married Polly Austen on June 23, 1956 she died in 1986.  He remarried to Pat Rooney in 1990, she died in 2009.

He is survived by a sister, Janet Heim of Watertown and a niece, Robbin Heim and her husband Scott Thackston of Dexter, several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and two loving wives, he is predeceased by four brothers, Morris, Harold, Robert and Lawrence Vincent.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.  It was Eugene’s wishes to be cremated.  Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in N. Watertown Cemetery.
