Eric Jean LaPradd

Eric Jean LaPradd, 65, of Three Mile Bay, NY, passed away on September 10, 2024, at his home. 

He was born on February 16, 1959, in Albany, NY, the son of Gayle Bright. Eric graduated from Corcoran High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years, receiving an honorable discharge. After his military career, Eric became a private investigator.

On May 3, 2017, Eric married Mary Ellen Miller, and the couple moved to the Watertown area in 2017, later settling in Three Mile Bay in 2022. For the past five years, Eric owned and operated North American Contracting Heating, Plumbing, and Electrical. 

In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and bowling, and he was an avid hockey and football fan. 

Eric is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen LaPradd of Three Mile Bay; his son, Jon R. LaPradd, of Texas;  his daughter and son-in-law, Angela (LaPradd) and Ryan Purvis of Texas; and his two grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Purvis. He is also survived by his six siblings: Laura (Robert) Ryan of Baldwinsville, NY; Linda (Tommie) Bryant of Rochester, NY; Richard LaPradd of Syracuse, NY; Charlotte LaPradd of Syracuse, NY; Diane Bright of Charlotte, NC; Selena (Radu)Turner of Manlius, NY; and a brother-in-law, Kevin Broadwater of North Syracuse, NY. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews. 

Eric was predeceased by his mother Gayle and a sister, Elizabeth Broadwater. 

A funeral service with military honors will be held at Noon on Saturday September 21st at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home 117 N. Massey St., Watertown.  Calling hours will be held 11 a.m. until Noon on Saturday, at the funeral home.
