Elsie Mae Fulton, 88, of Watertown, New York, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at Samaritan Medical Center.
She was born on April 5, 1937, in Saranac Lake, New York, the daughter of Cesaer and Imogene (Elliott) Patnode. Elsie graduated from Carthage Central High School in 1954. On April 28, 1956, she married Karl A. Fulton Jr. in Rome, New York. The couple made their home in Watertown, where Karl was employed by the City of Watertown Recreation Department for 34 years.
Elsie was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in spending time with her family and friends. She especially cherished time at the family cottage in Adams Cove and winters spent in St. Petersburg, Florida. She also enjoyed visiting the casino and was a faithful member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
Her beloved husband, Karl, predeceased her in 2013. She was also predeceased by her parents; her infant daughter, Kandy Fulton; her grandson, Joseph Fulton; and her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Francis Hoffman.
Elsie is survived by her loving family, including her two sons and daughters-in-law: Michael R. and Becky Fulton of Cape Vincent, New York, and Danny J. and Martha Fulton of Carthage, New York. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Aubrey and Curtis Buker, Megan Fulton and her fiance Troy Weaver, Michelle and Aaron LaLone, Katelyn and Todd Thomas, Kathleen Fulton,Michael and Abigail Stoffell, and Melissa and Tyler Sorrell; as well as four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Addy, Finn, and KylaJo.
Arrangements are with Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. In keeping with Elsie’s wishes, she will be cremated, and burial will be held at North Watertown Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
