Eleanor J. Majeski, 75, of Scottsville, New York, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Born on September 19, 1949, in Watertown, NY, Eleanor was the daughter of George S. and Alice L. (Jones) Tripp. She graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy and went on to earn an associate’s degree in business from Jefferson Community College.

In 1969, Eleanor married Francis “Frank” Majeski of Rochester, NY. The couple built a life together in the Rochester area, and for the past 30 years, they have called Scottsville home. Eleanor worked as a secretary at various insurance companies over the years and retired as an office manager at a local firm. Frank retired as an electronic mechanic for the United States Postal Service.

Eleanor loved her community and cherished her time walking around the quaint village of Scottsville, visiting the local diner, and connecting with her many friends and neighbors. She was also an avid reader and a devoted wife, sister, and aunt who cared deeply for her family.

Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Francis Majeski of Scottsville, NY; four sisters, Margaret Lapo of Delanson, NY, Catherine Timmeny of Alexandria, VA, Alice and Ray Lazenby of Supply, NC, and her twin, Helen (Wayne) Smiley of Watertown, NY; her brother, Michael J. Tripp of Auburn, NY; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend for over 50 years Linda Pease of Hornell, NY.

Besides her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by seven siblings: George, Pat, Joseph, Tony, and Peter Tripp, Mary Bernier, and Judy.

BABY SISTER

Last on the scene our Eleanor Jean,

bringing our family to one of thirteen.

Loved by us all, and so much fun.

her Mother's heart, she surely won.

A job well done, when she was asked,

a keeper of an awesome task.

From Heaven above and Earth below,

No one can match her friendly glow.

What would we have done?  I wonder still.

If she had not said:  "Yes I will,"

To being a sister and a friend,

how lucky we are, she was our END.
