Donna L. Schorr

Donna Lee Schorr, 79, of Watertown, New York, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2024, at her home.  

 She was born on May 6, 1944, in Lafargeville, New York, daughter of Paul and Mary Jane (Jobson) Davis. Donna attended school in Lafargeville and went on to marry Nelson Schorr on February 22, 1970, at the First Baptist Church in Black River. They made their home in Watertown, where Donna held various jobs over the years while also dedicating herself to being a loving homemaker. She found joy in playing cards, gambling, bingo, and bowling, and was actively involved in numerous leagues throughout her life. 

 Donna is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Nelson Schorr, of Watertown, and their four children: Linda Liner of North Carolina, Robert “Bob” Ackley Jr. of Watertown, New York, David and Marylou Ackley of Watertown, New York, and Nelson Jr. and Sharon Schorr of Ohio. She is also remembered fondly by her 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, 

Donna was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Linda Ackley, four brothers: Carl, Sidney, Harley, and Buddy Davis, and five sisters: Doris, Betty, Mary, Rose, and Norma. 

Arrangements are with the Hart and Bruce Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by a 7 p.m. funeral service.  

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s memory to the SPCA.
