Diana M. Secor Obituary

Diana M. Secor, a devoted grandmother, cherished caretaker, and kind-hearted soul, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with illness. She was 72 years old.

Born on January 20, 1953, to George M. and Fannie McIntosh Nicholas Sr., Diana grew up in Carthage and attended Carthage Central School before earning her GED. Throughout her life, Diana dedicated herself to caring for others, spending many years as a trusted babysitter and compassionate caretaker. Her nurturing spirit and warm presence touched countless lives.

Diana’s greatest joy was her family, especially her beloved granddaughter, Zoe, whom she adored with all her heart. She found comfort in the company of her cherished cat, Midnight, and enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows, The Challenge and The Empire Vampires.

She is survived by her daughters, Laura Beckstead and Barbara Fisher; her grandchildren, Josh and Amy Hess of Watertown, and Zoe Smith of West Virginia. Diana is also survived by her siblings: George (Nick), Darlene, Cindy, Victoria, and Laurie.

A special place in Diana’s heart was held by her best friend of 15 years, Tammy Paro of Roswell, New Mexico, whose steadfast friendship brought her comfort and joy.

Diana’s gentle nature, unwavering kindness, and dedication to her loved ones will be dearly missed. Her family takes comfort in knowing that her loving spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal shelter in Diana’s memory, honoring her love for animals and her compassionate heart.
