Daniel L. Chartrand, 68, of Watertown, New York, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026 at his home surrounded by his beloved family and under the care of his daughter and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Daniel was born on November 3, 1957, in Corning, New York, the son of Joseph C. and Mary E. (Benedict) Chartrand. He attended Charlotte High School in Rochester.
Following his schooling, Daniel worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, including contracting work and factory work at Burlington Coat Factory, until he became disabled. He moved to Watertown and resided at Skyline Apartments beginning in March of 2025.
Daniel found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing, playing spades, and watching football on television. He was a Dallas Cowboy fan. Most of all he valued the time he spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his two daughters, Julie M. Chartrand of Rochester, NY, and Samantha M. Chartrand of Watertown, NY; and his three grandchildren, Michael Ja’Kal and Ni’Klaus. He is also survived by his siblings: Ron and Karine Chartrand of Switzerland; Gloria and Bob Brywa of Perry, NY; Ruth Bloss of Altmar, NY; and David and Kristina Chartrand of Rochester, NY; along with several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. In keeping with Daniel’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services.
