Christopher M. Peterson

Watertown, NY – Christopher M. Peterson, 52, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024 at Hospice of Jefferson County Residence at the Ellis Farm. Born January 27, 1972, in Watertown, NY, he was the son of William M. Peterson Jr. and Catherine L. Tibbles.

Christopher attended General Brown High School and following school worked various jobs in the local area. For a brief time, he moved to Texas before returning to Watertown in 2010. He loved to travel and was a lover of nature and the outdoors. He could often be found enjoying the fresh air with a cup of Tim Horton's coffee at Thompson Park or immersed in a fantasy novel. His passion for animals was evident in the bearded dragons, turtles, and other reptiles he cared for over the years.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine L. Tibbles, of Watertown, NY; his daughter, Haley Peterson, of Canada; and his son, Harley Peterson, of Ohio. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Janet Seung, of San Diego, CA; his sister, Carla Walker, of Texas; and two brothers, Corey McDaniel and Cameron Queal, of Texas, 6 nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Christopher was predeceased by his father, William M. Peterson Jr.; an uncle, Larry Peterson; and his maternal grandparents, William and Mary Peterson Sr.

In accordance with his wishes, Christopher will be cremated, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
