Charlene M. Fix

Charlene M. Fix, 77, of Cape Vincent, NY, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 20, 1948, in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of James L. and Marion A. (Garber) Ward.  Charlene graduated from Lansdowne- Aldan High School in 1966 and went on to attend nursing school at Crozer- Chester Medical Center in Upland, PA, where she began her career as an LPN. 

Charlene married John R. Fix on October 28, 1977 in Collingdale, PA.  John served in the US Army, and together they traveled all over the world during his military career.  Throughout their travels, Charlene continued as an LPN, serving in various Department of Defense community medical centers until her retirement in 2013.

In 1995, Charlene and John made their home in Cape Vincent, where she became an active member of the community.  She was a devoted member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and volunteered with the Child Advocacy Center in Watertown.

Among her survivors are her beloved husband, John R. Fix, Cape Vincent; two sons and their wives, Albert A. (Mary Stevens) Peguero, Linden, VA and Andrew J. (Heather) Fix, Bowling, KY; and two grandchildren, Evan Peguero and Arianna Fix.

Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery at the convenience of the family
