Carol J. Brown, 85, of Watertown, NY, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024 at Hospice Residence of Jefferson County at the Ellis Farm.
Born on September 17, 1939, in Cape Vincent, NY, she was the daughter of Flossie Comins. Carol graduated from Lyme Central School and pursued a long career in banking, beginning with being a private secretary to the vice president at Marine Midland Bank. She also worked at Jefferson National Bank and Redwood National Bank. After her banking career, she worked for Porter Chiropractic as a front desk coordinator for 20 years before retiring completely in 2018.
Carol enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid yard sale and garage sale shopper, always on the hunt for a good deal. She had a special love for her cat, Mikey, who wasn’t just a pet but a source of endless joy, comfort and companionship.
She is survived by her family who brought her the greatest of joy.

She is also survived by a brother, Garry Berry, Watertown, NY and her cousin Fern Comins, Watertown, NY and other cousins.
Carol was predeceased in death by her beloved son, Howard Smith and her longtime companion Howard Schultz.
In accordance with Carol’s wishes, there will be a private graveside service held at St. Lawrence Cemetery at a later date, to be determined.
