Evans Mills — Bryan G. Oster, 62, of Evans Mills, NY, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at the Jefferson County Hospice Residence at the Ellis Farm.
He was born on May 26, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Raymond and Janet (Palsse) Oster. Bryan graduated from Lutheran East High School in Cleveland in 1981.
On September 6, 1986, he married Cynthia M. “Cindy” Schmitt in Orchard Park, New York. In 1984, Bryan began working at Rupp Rental and Sales as a mechanic. He later became service manager—a position he continued to hold at what is now known as Anderson Equipment Company until his retirement in 2020.
Bryan was a member of Ducks Unlimited and a New York State licensed hunting guide for all wildlife; however, his greatest passion was for waterfowl. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He deeply loved his family and his loyal Labrador retrievers.
Bryan is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Cynthia M. “Cindy” Oster of Evans Mills; two daughters and a son-in-law, Meghann E. and John Leclair of Colchester, Vermont, three grandchildren Oliver, Emma and Wyatt; and daughter and son-in-law Rebecca M. and John Ziolkowski of Las Vegas, NV.
He was predeceased by his parents and his infant brother, Craig Oster.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.
A calling hour will be held on Monday, November 3rd from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Life Church of the Nazarene, 535 Thompson Blvd. in Watertown with Rev. Bob Tharp officiating. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bryan’s memory may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County.
