Robert G. L’Huillier, 80, of 14164 Military Road, Sackets Harbor, passed away April 4, 2019 at the Samaritan Medical Center.
Arrangements are with the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in N. Watertown Cemetery.
Born on August 23, 1938, in Watertown, the son of Harold and Margaret (Turcott) L’Huillier, he graduated from Watertown High School in 1957.
Following school he entered the US Army and served three years active duty. Upon his honorable discharge he continued to serve in the Army National Guard for the next 30 years.
He married Sandra L. Bearden on June 20, 1964 at Holy Family Church. The couple resided in Brownville and later moved to Sackets Harbor where they purchased the Sackets Harbor General Store and owned and operated it up until they retired in 2005. His wife passed October 18, 2010.
Robert was an avid Dallas Cowboys and NY Yankees fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Among his survivors are two sons and a daughter in law, Robert T. L’Huillier and Matthew T. and Karen L. L’Huillier, Sackets Harbor, six grandchildren, Hollie, Alec, Adin, Connor, Audrey and Owen, great granddaughter, Cambrie, his brother and sister in law, Harold and Sally L’Huillier, Brownville, a sister, Joan Knapp, Clayton, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the 5th floor at the Samaritan Medical Center for the compassion and care they provided to their father.
