Rena Briscoe

Rena M. Briscoe, 59, of 316 Walker Ave., Watertown, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Samaritan Medical Center following a long battle withmuscular dystrophy. 

A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home 117 N. Massey St., Watertown.

Born on November 29, 1958 in Queens, NY, daughter of Leo Yiannitsis and Katherine Harrison, she graduated in 1976 from Bowne High School in Queens, NY.

Following school she married Daniel E. Briscoe of Queens, on January 3, 1978 and became a mother and homemaker. Mr. Briscoe was in the military for 12 years and the couple resided throughout the US.  Upon his honorable discharge their family settled in Watertown, NY in 1988.  He worked for American Woodsplitters in Black River for many years and at Denny’s the past fourteen years.

Rena enjoyed cross stitch, making jewelry, scrapbooking and was an avid artist.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and always put others before herself. 

She is survived by her loving husband Daniel E. Briscoe , Watertown, her son, Daniel S. Briscoe, Nashville, TN, five grandchildren, Ian, Maria and Emma Briscoe, Baily Ward and Leo Rios, her father, Leo Yiannitsis, Queens,NY, her two sisters and  brother in law, Loretta and George Pizzo, Queens, Leona Sciortino, CA, son in law, Edgar Rios, nieces and nephews.

Her mother, Katherine Harrison passed away before her and her beloved daughter, Lisa A. Rios passed December 4, 2016.
