Jacob Garfield Thomas, 28, of 23584 Perrigo Road, Black River, passed away at Upstate University following a motorcycle accident.
He was born on April 29, 1991 in Carthage, NY, son of Forrest William Thomas and Melissa Ann Decker.
Jacob attended Carthage Central High School. Following school he took an interest in construction and carpentry and held various jobs in the local area. He loved the outdoors, was very close with nature, and especialy loved spending time with his family.
Jacob had a kind and fun loving soul, he had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. He worked hard to support and provide for his family. He was a strong man who overcame adversity on his own and by creating a strong support network of family and friends for himself. Jacob will continue to share that strength by giving the gift of life and donating his organs to others in need. He will live on. He will be missed. He will always be with us.
Among his survivors are his three children, Madilyn, Zaydin and Camden, his beloved mother, Melissa A. Thomas, Watertown, father, Forrest W. Thomas Jr., Black River, his paternal grandfather, Forrest Thomas Sr., TN, three brothers and a sister in law, Jesse Woodruff, FL, Joshua and Chenoa Woodruff, Watertown, Forrest Thomas III, Watertown, a niece, Reighla, two nephews, Brendyn and Isaiah, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A graveside service will be at the Black River Cemetary on Wednedsday the 9th at 4:30pm. For all those who knew or loved Jacob a Celebration of Life will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 19 at the Black River American Legion 113 E. Dexter St., Black River.
