Steven J. Whitford

Steven J. Whitford, 62, of Watertown, New York, passed away on March 19, 2024, at his home. 

He was born on November 8, 1961, in Watertown, New York, the son of William and Betty (Reynolds) Whitford, Sr. 

Steven attended Watertown High School and began his career in construction, working alongside his father and later for various other companies, showcasing his skills in masonry, welding, roofing, and construction. Additionally, he pursued his passion for mechanics and worked in that field over the years. Steven’s diverse interests included working on vehicles, appreciating history and art, enjoying music, watching crime shows, cooking, and cherishing moments with his family. He most recently worked at McDonald’s in Watertown. 

 He is survived by his four children, Sarah Whitford, Joel Whitford, and Mark Whitford, all of Watertown and Scott and Vanessa Whitford of Florida; four grandchildren, Hailey, Aiden, Jaxon, and King. 

He is predeceased by his parents, William and Betty Whitford, Sr., two sisters, Bonnie Malone and Carol Sue Whitford, and eight brothers, William Whitford, Jr., Tommy, Randy, John, Richard, Danny, Terry, and Larry Whitford.  

Arrangements are with the Hart and Bruce Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 25th, from noon to 1 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at North Watertown Cemetery.
